PASSBOOK
Version 1.0 (C) Copyright 1986
Generic Software

Welcome to PASSBOOK -- The personal financial management
system for the IBM PC.
Originally designed as a business tool, PASSBOOK is a close
relative of the program JOURNAL. I found after writing
JOURNAL that it was perfect for keeping track of my
checking, savings and money market accounts. The documents
enclosed in this distribution are actually written for
JOURNAL, but don't let that confuse you. Just:
-- Substitute the word PASSBOOK for the work JOURNAL
whenever possible.
-- Ignore any sections of the documentation which discuss
updating a chart of accounts. This is not possible, (and not
necessary) when using PASSBOOK. PASSBOOK comes with three
built in accounts to which you may post entries. These are:
100 DEPOSITS
200 WITHDRAWALS
300 MISC.
The floppy disk which you have received includes the
following:
PASSBOOK.COM : The PASSBOOK Executable file.
REFMAN.JNL : a copy of the JOURNAL Reference Manual.
USERMAN.JNL: a copy of the JOURNAL User Manual
README.PSB: this file.
Please feel free to distribute this software to friends,
relatives, and people on the street. If after using
PASSBOOK, you find that you would like to apply the power of
PASSBOOK to your business records, you may purchase a copy
of JOURNAL by sending $35.00 to:
